Below are the suggestions made by the Day 1 and Day 2 librarians. I need to offer a vote for what campuses would prefer. Please do not make any firm plans with your campus regarding the topics. The months for Read Around the School are October, February, and May-June. Each campus must participate twice, but which two months you choose are up to you.
Day 1 suggestions
- Chose 2 of 3 times
- October - "Trick or Read" - fall, halloween, etc
- February -
- MayJune- last one or two days of school
Themes up to campus - check Highsmith or Oriental Trading
- October - "Freedom to Read" - citizenship, elections, voting, freedom
- February - "Happily Ever After" - fairy tales, fractured tales
- May/June - Teacher's Favorite Book - Children's Book Week - May 12-18
Day 2 Suggestions
- Choose 2 of 3 times
- October - Trick or Read
- February - Happily Ever After
- May/June - Dog Days of Summer or It's Reading Cats and Dogs
