How do we connect with our community?  How can we reach out to our parents to let them know what we have to offer?

  • Meet the author night
  • After school student programs (Battle of the Books, Nursery Rhyme Olympics)
  • Library announcements (Video, Podcast)
  • PTA newletter article
  • Offer technology training for parents
  • Library brochures
  • PTA meeting presentation
  • Parent PSA email
  • Library portal training for parents
  • Parent Volunteers
  • Partner with other departments that have contact with parents (councilor, family specialist, nurse, etc.)
  • Storytime for children that do not attend the campus (sibling of students, nearby daycare center, etc.)
  • Participate in special occassions (Grandparent's Day)
  • Particpate in content special programs (Reading Night, Math Night, Literacy Night)
  • PTA Checkout time
  • Use guest readers (parents, community members, etc.)
  • Kissing Hand Reading
  • Allow parents to use library computers when they are not being used by students
  •  Prepare a rolling presentation to be played where parents are waiting (PowerPoint, Breeze, etc.)
